- In January, Master Hsin-tao conducted seven days Chan (Zen) ; Venerable Binnui Soe Tha and Ven. U Yee Maa La came from Myanmar and taught breathing process. His Holiness Sey Rinpoche conducted “Phowa Course” and “antarābhāva”.
- In February, visited The Most Rev. Joseph Ti-kang, a Catholic Archbishop, and Indian religious teacher such as Sikkhs Masters and others.
- In March, conducted seven days Chan and taught “Chan Hua-Tou” Dharma. (Cha Hua Tao is Chinese terminology of ‘Samshaya’, an attainment of Chan meditation, the literal meaning is ‘doubt’. Actually it is meditative attainment of Chan meditation where one experience Chan Hua Tou and feels that he/she is enlightened. However, it is a doubting stage through which every meditator has to pass through.)
- In April, Master Hsin-tao went Thailand for the propagation of Buddhism and organized “Offering to Buddha’s Relic” Mahāpujā, and met with Sangharājā Nyanasamvara Suvaddhana.
- In May, Ven. Dzogchen Khenpo Choga Rinpoche came to Ling Jiou Mountain and conducted “Complete Attainment of Zen Without Rest” and Ma-gang Rinpoche conducted “Offering to The Guru of Triple Jewels”.
- In August, organized Shu-lu Mahāpujā.
- In September, conducted seven days Chan (Zen) on “Surangāmā Sutra” and “ānāpāna sati”.
- October and November, invited by National Army to deliver speech on mental healing for the family of those victims who died in September 21, earthquake. Also invited Christian priest Chow Lien-hwa with other five religious leaders to bless for peace of souls for those victims who died in the earthquake of September 21, and help survivors of spiritual renewal.
- In December, Master Hsin-tao went Cape Town, South Africa to attend the Third World Religions Conference on “ Encountering Religion and Spirituality” and related panel discussing were organized by Parliament of the World’s Religions (CPWR) ”. Master Hsin-tao delivered two speeches, first, “Twenty-first Century Buddhist - My Thinking, Experience and Expectations” and “The Mind in This Millennium – Hope of Museum of World religions” in two different symposia ; In late March, he conducted ten days Chan on “Avtamaskā Sutra” and ānāpāna sati”. In the same month, together with Catholic teachers organized a light offering ceremony , presided the ” 2000 lights offering memorial ceremony (Pujā)”, for victims who died in September 21, earthquake .
