• In January, Master Hsin-tao sent one hundred and eight Sangha members to Thailand to welcome The Golden Buddha Statue to Ling Jiou Mountain , Statue was presented and offered by Thai Sangharājā Nyanasamvara Suvaddhana. Then, organized a Mahāpujā on “The Awakening Towards Life” to bless the Millennium year.
   
• In February, conducted ten days Chan practice on “Mahā Nirvāna Sutra”.
   
• In April, Ven. Monks from Nanhua Monastery of Fo Guang Shan, South Africa Buddhist College took twenty-five Sangha members visited Ling Jiou Mountain.
   
• In May, conducted seven days Chan (Zen) meditation on “Silence Observation” and “ānāpāna sati”; Led a delegation to visit Jewish’s educational institutes and museums in North American.
   
• In June, World Muslim League Secretary General Dr. Abdullah bin Saleh Al-Obaid visited Ling Jiou Mountain.
   
• In July, visit Hebei Bo-lin Monastery in China, and exchanged dialogue on meditation; Also the King’s choir of Kings College of Cambridge University came Taiwan performed program to praised for MWR, in National Concert Hall, Taipei.
   
• In August, organized Shui-lu Mahāpujā ; Master Hsin-tao was invited by United Nations Originations to participate in “Millennium World Peace Summit of Religious Leaders”. Master Hsin-tao presented his thought and prayer for world peace. After this conference he was invited by “UNESCO Inter-Religious Group” ; He visited religious and spiritual places and reserved place for Indiana in Colorado devotional region. In the same tour he visited Central and South America and other places of Mayan civilization, also had cultural exchange with the local government.
   
• In September, Master Hsin-tao sent his disciples to Japan to participate in the annual meeting on ”Year 2000, of International Museum”.
   
• November, assisted salvation ceremony (Pujā) for the victims who died in Singapore Airline crash.
