Organized “Muslim Buddhist Dialogue” At UNESCO Headquarters

2003, (At the age of 55)

  • In January, Master Hsin-tao went Bangalore, India to participate in International Conference on “Spiritual Revival and Human Value”.
     
  • In March, went Bandung and other places in Jakarta, Indonesia to propagate the Dhamma.
     
  • In April, conducted meditation on “From Fasting to Love – Ten Thousand Peoples Meditation” in Yi-lan County, Sports Park to promote global peace of mind (this is latter Inner Peace Movemnet). Master Hsin-tao introduced the concept of “If Mind is at Peace, the World is at Peace”.
     
  • In May, organized “4th Muslim Buddhist Dialogue” at UNESCO Headquarters, Paris. The topics in this three days dialogue were, “The Art of Listening”,  “Global Ethics and Good Governance”, and “Peace Education”. This conference was organized just three weeks after the second Gulf War, which received special attention by UNESCO.
     
  • In June, Master Hsin-tao went to Thailand to participate in “Success Buddha” statue casting ceremony. This ceremony holds special meaning because the gold donated by the devotees melt together and casted Buns on the Buddha’s head. This ceremony was co-hosted with Thai Sangharājā Nyanasamyara Suyaddhana.
     
  • In July, participated in international Symposium on “Globalization and Religion”, and delivered his lecture on “Education for Interreligious Understanding in a Global Age”, in Payap University, Chiang-mai, Thailand. 
     
  • In August, conducted Shui-lu Mahāpujā.
     
  • In September, established the Buddhist College on Ling Jiou Mountain where a student can practice Buddhism of all three major Schools. This college named as “Triyana Buddhist College”. This Buddhist College represents the continuation of Buddhist tradition and its practice from ancient to now. After this, Master Hsin-tao went to USA on an invitation to attain the NGO annual meeting of United Nations Headquarter, in New York. In this meeting Master presented his lecture on “The Contributions of Religious Dialogues in World Peace”. In the same month, the Ling Jiou Mountain organized “Bao-hua Sect, Five Percepts and Bodhisattva Percepts” initiation ceremony. Most Venerable Master Jie-de Thera, Ven. Shou-cheng, Ven. Kuan-yu and other elders were invited to host this enthrone ceremony.
     
  • In December, Master Hsin-tao went to India to participate in “India Peace Summit” presented his dhamma lecture, which is a Pre-Conference for the “ 4th World Religious Conference”. After this conference, he went to Spain (Sevilla), Serbia City, to participate in Israeli Religious Academic conference. This conference was organized by “Elijah Interfaith Institute”, “First Elijah Religious Leaders Association” and was invited to serve as international Buddhist Think Tank convener.
