Co-Organized With CASS Cross-Strait Symposium In Beijing

2004, (At the age of 56)

  • In February, Master Hsin-tao was invited by Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA and Yale University, to deliver dhamma lecture and Chan meditation.
     
  • In April, The Hindu spiritual Guru Baba Siders invited Master Hsin-tao to participate a sage in Mahā Kumbh Melā (religious festival), and “foot washing” ceremony of Hindu traditions took place in sacred Ujjain city, India. Also. In the same month, he was invited to Tehran, Iran, to participate in “World Conference on Motahari's Thought”, delivered a speech on “How Religious Dialogue Should Treat Other Religions”.
     
  • In June, the “Global Family for Love and Peace, GFLP" emerged its first “Buddha’s Seeds” by offering “Pu-ren” scholarships to help orphans in Myanmar. These orphan students are ordained as Sramanera (Novice Monk) and provided general education, as well as basic Buddhist teachings.
     
  • In July, went Barcelona to participate in the Fourth World Conference of Religion, during this visit Master Hsin-tao also organized “Muslim Buddhist Dialogue”, inter-faith dialogue.
     
  • In August, Master Hsin-tao and the Chinese Academy of Social Science (CASS)  jointly organized Cross-Strait Symposium on “The Study of Religious Culture in the Process of Globalization” in Beijing. He also delivered lecture on “The Power of Awakening – The Hua-yan Worldview(Avatamaskā World) and Global Outlook”. Then he visited Guangzhou, Huizhou, Dongguan, Hong Kong and other places in China.
     
  • In October, together with University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada(UBC) co-organized international Symposium on religions “The Formation and Transformation of Buddhist Pilgrimage sites”. In the inauguration of this symposium Master Hsin-tao delivered lecture on “A vivid Profession: Rejuvenating the Spirit of Holy Places”
     
  • In November, together with Goldin Institute and Taipei City Government, co-organized international conference on 2004 Partner City. And religious forum on – “Spiritual and Ecological Sustainability: The Water –As Our Common Origin”. In this forum he delivered lecture on “Global Ethics and World Peace – The Contemporary Task of Religion”.
     
  • In December, “White Paper Report on The Spirit of Taiwan” released for the first time. This report concerns the mental health problem of Taiwanese, its root cause and finds solutions. According to this report, the root cause behind mental problem is the lack of spiritual education and suggests that the people of Taiwan to focus on life education, and regress to the peace of mind ; Through the promotion of “From Fasting to Love – Peace Meditation, Master Hsin-tao appealed to all Taiwanese to help for tsunami victims in South Asia.
