Master Hsin-tao Launched Peace Project In Myanmar (Burma)

2015, (at the age of 67)
- In January, Master Hsin-tao announced his years planning of Peace project which including Sramanera (Novice Monk) school and Peace Life University , the first phase of construction is launched named Mahār Kusalār Yārma Monastery Elementary School, Naung Mon.
- In February, because in August 2014, Master Hsin-tao assisted the Ministry of National Defense, R. O. C., Taiwan, by organizing ceremony to bring back the spirits of Expedition Armed Forces from Myitkyina of Northern Myanmar, and enshrined them in The National Revolutionary Martyr’s Shrine. Therefore, the Ministry of National Defense, Taiwan, paid their thanks and awarded Chan Master Hsin-tao with “Medal of Victorious, A-Second Class”. It is a second class medal of Armed Forces.
- In the beginning of March to end of April, led the resident monks and nuns of Ling Jiou Mountain Wu Sheng Monastery and conducted a 49-days Spring Chan (Zen) retreat. And within this Chan retreat he organized 21 days Yun-sue Chan retreat (cloud water zen) for lay devotees, for their wellbeing and able to find themselves.
- In April, there were major earthquake in Nepal, Master Hsin-tao appealed all members of the Sangha to recite “Mahā-Karunā Sutra” (Dhāraṇī Great Compassion Mantra) for the victims, and transferred the merit to the departed ones, and may they rest in peace. Master Hsin-tao also organized relief team together with Sangha members and doctors to rescue earthquake victims and immediately departed for Nepal.
- In May, having several years’ experience of practice on the Buddha’s path and teaching the heritage of Buddhist education, the Dhamma, Master Hsin-tao started organizing the teaching on Early Buddhist sutras (First Sermon Sutra) in different Auditorium and Meditation Centers all over the world. The contents of these classes were focused on Four Stages of Teachings, Dhammcakkapavattana Sutta (Setting the Wheel of the Dhamma in Motion) based on the āgāma texts of Early Buddhism. Chan Master Hsin-tao invited many Theravāda monks to deliver the teaching.
- In September, invited by「China Committee on Religion and Peace」&「Chinese Buddhist Association of China 」Joint Committee, to participate World Peace Mahāpujā. This Mahāpujā was held at Beijing Longquan Temple to commemorate 70th anniversary of two events together, first, Chinese people who died in Anti-Japanese war and the victory of Anti-Fascist war, and pray for the world peace. At the end of the month he was invited by Chinese Wuhan Bao-en Temple in the inauguration and initiation ceremony of Thousand Buddha Pagoda (the Pogoda of Thousand Buddha).
- In October, Master was invited to participate in the World Religion Conference in Salt Lake City, Utah State in United States which was organized by Parliament of the World’s Religion. During this conference he conducted a panel discussing of Buddhist Muslim dialogue on “Searching the Global Home of Mind”, the topic of this dialogue was further sub-divided into two other, such as “Healing the Wounds of Violence, Hatred and War”, and “Retrieving The Sanctity of the Earth”. After the conference, Madam Sally Kader, the president of United States Federation for Middle East Peace (USFMEP) invited Master Hsin-tao, and scholars Imam Shamsi Ali from Islamic Cultural Center of New York to participate in Second Session of “Muslim Buddhist dialogue” in the United Nations Headquarters.
- In December, Pilgrimage cum Sanghadāna, visited Buddhist Monasteries and Colleges in Yangon and Pogan, Myanmar (Burma), organized Sanghadāna for Buddhist Monks. Also visited to Tripitaka Ācārya Bhikkhu Ashin Sondara (Tipitakadhara Dhammabhandagorika), of The Sunlun Way of Meditation Center, Yangon. Organized Theravāda short term monastic and nine percept observer Upashakas and Upashikas monastic meeting at Mahar Kusalar Yama Monastery, Yangon. Finally, the monastic ceremony completed in Manshusi Buddhist Monastery at Lashio.
