VIRTUE FLOURISHES, THEN ALL GLORY FOLLOWS

For the Spring Festival and Lunar New Year in early 2026, Grand Master Hsin Tao delivered a Dharma Message based on the calligraphy of 'Fiery Horse Gallops, Virtue Flourishes over Fame, Fortune, and Power'. He emphasized that virtues are quintessential for all livelihood in the present-day world. The Grand Master placed 'virtue' before 'fame, fortune, and power' to address the issue that people are prone to pursue superficial fame and fortune by neglecting that virtue is actually what reins in a materialistic world. Put succinctly, true influence stems from the calling of virtue, and the life wisdom of 'virtue as the ultimate foundation' is the only key to dissolve contemporary deadlocks.

The nature of virtue lies in altruism and shared positivity that surpass personal gains and view helping others as an accumulation of positive karma. The Grand Master remarked with caution that a virtueless society is bound to descend into a 'gray area' so much so that disputes erupt and confrontations worsen.

The Intense Energy of the 'Fiery Horse' year of 2026 urgently requires transformation through conscious awakening into the light of wisdom. The Grand Master was straightforward in pointing out that virtue defies lip service and positive karma only accumulates when good deeds are done daily, including dissolving disputes, curbing confrontations at bay, and practicing altruism wherever possible.

The practice manifests itself in a three-tiered manner:
Firstly, outgrow all attachments and delusions, continue the spirit of last year's calligraphy: 'Break Free and Be at Ease', to weed out all preemptive calculations and restore trustworthiness with selfless sincerity. Secondly, take the initiative to dissolve confrontations to create a positive cycle of interdependent symbiosis, as society functions as a shared common living mechanism. And, thirdly and finally, view all help to others as the source of happiness by practicing the Four Gives—giving others confidence, joy, hope, and convenience—and accommodating differences, which become internalized as an intuitive daily practice. Only then does it become possible that the 'gray area' turns into Illuminating Collective Good , where virtues breed to nurture society and benefit the country.

'When Virtue Flourishes, Then All Glory Follows' points directly at the root cause of our contemporary crises—that virtues have weakened and no longer aspire. The Grand Master stated emphatically that only an altruistic heart and a harmonious mind lay the foundation for a field of energy where interdependence and mutual augmentation thrive. A harmonious and prosperous society is hardly ever the accomplishment of a few individuals, but a path commonly taken by all sentient beings in practice towards awakening—realizing that helping others succeed is to achieve self-completion, a perception that equals an ultimate wisdom in a chaotic era where treacherous waters are mitigated with virtues for a boat and altruism for the oars.

By forsaking self-serving calculations and sincerely building bridges of mutual support, we can restore harmony from disputes and transition from suspicion to symbiosis, thereby realizing the profound vision of 'When Virtue Flourishes, Then All Glory Follows.' The Grand Master made an iron-clad conclusion, stating: 'Base everything on virtue; without virtue, nothing can be established.' In 2026, the year when the Fiery Horse gallops, only through the awakening of our inner virtues can we ignite an eternal lamp for the world.
